
I rarely have weekends off, but when I do, I love spending time w/ my family. On Saturdays, we enjoy walking down to the Alemany Farmer's Market and picking up our weeks work of produce. Last week, we brought $20 and ended up buying Fuji apples, granny smith apples, leeks, red onions, walnuts, almonds, napa cabbage, and tamales. I like this Farmer's Market over the one at the pier because I find it sooo much cheaper and its so close my house! Check it out this weekend!

Asian Art Museum FREE first Sundays of the Month: The new Emerald Cities Exhibit has a $5 surcharge- Emerald Cities is the first major exhibition in the West to explore the rich but little known arts of Siam and Burma from this period. Many of the 140 stunning artworks—including gilded ritual vessels, mother-of-pearl inlaid furniture, colorful paintings, manuscripts, exquisite textiles, delicate ceramics, and more—were recently acquired by the museum from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and are on display for the first time.

If you do end up going this Saturday I recommend:
- Checking out the stand w/ the dried fruits and nuts; try their sundried tomatoes and pick up a bag of pecans for some pecan pie.
- Buying a couple of tamales from the tamales vendor. You can also buy them frozen if you want to take them to work w/ you for lunch.
- Buying some honey! They have a great variety of honey to choose from- alfalfa, orange blossom, etc.
- Buy some fresh herbs! Experiment and try some new ones you've never had before.
