Did you know today is UN World Water Day? This day marks the importance of protecting our natural water resources and to advocate for a sustainable global management of these. World Water Day has been observed on March 22nd since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared March 22nd as World Day for Water.
The UN and its member nations devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries regarding the world's water resources as pressure is mounting on the world’s freshwater resources, both through increased demand and supply degradation. These pressures are likely to increase in years ahead as the world population grow and rapid industrialization creates more water demands for e.g. food and energy production, all as climate change is bringing an additional challenge on global freshwater supplies.
Since last summer I've started using a glass water bottle to store my filtered water, prior to that I was using a stainless steel or nalgene water bottle - though now I just rotate between the three. Below are two glass water bottle options.
SaveAcup set of two 18-ounce glass water bottles for $15 (a $27.98 value)
Lifefactory 22-ounce beverage bottle for $19.07 (for the sky blue only) prices vary between $21.99 - $19.07 depending on the color you select. I really like the Lifefactory bottles because of the silicone sleeve and handle because I always have my hands full and tend to drop things. What's also nice is the wide mouth so it makes for easy cleaning where you don't need a fancy special brush and dishwasher safe for when I'm not in the mood to hand wash.
