Bumbo Seat Recall Information

 A voluntary recall has been announced by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission for the following item(s): Bumbo Baby Seats.

Immediately stop using the seat until you order and install a free restraint belt and a new warning sticker. Never use on any raised surface. Babies can wiggle out of the floor seats.

The Bumbo baby seats are sold at Babies R Us, Target, Walmart and other retailers nationwide from August 2003 through August 2012.

Recall: Graco Quattro & MetroLite Strollers

I saw this on the local news last night and wanted to pass the information on to you.

Here is another recall. This one is for Graco Quattro and MetroLite Strollers

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Graco Children's Products Inc. have issued a recall of about two million Graco strollers due to risk of entrapment and strangulation. Entrapment and strangulation can occur, especially in infants younger than 12 months of age, when a child is not harnessed. The infant can pass through the opening between the stroller tray and seat bottom, but his or her head and neck can become entrapped. The recall involves strollers and travel systems distributed between November 2000 and December 2007. Click here for a complete list of recalled model numbers. The model numbers are printed on a label at the lower portion of the rear frame.

The recall of these powder infant formulas includes:
Certain Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers.
Certain Similac powder product lines offered in 8-ounce, 12.4-ounce and 12.9-ounce cans.

One of West Michigan Mommy's readers emailed her to let her know about an Egg Recall due to possible Salmonella contamination. Brands include : Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps.

If you want to check your eggs to see if they are part of the recall, please visit the FDA post online to determine if you need to throw them out. Better safe than sorry!

McDonald's Shrek Drinking Glass Recall

In collaboration with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and as a precautionary measure, McDonald’s USA has issued a voluntary product recall of the four Shrek Forever After™ promotional pieces of glassware recently offered in U.S. restaurants. It's important to know that the CPSC has said the glassware is not toxic. However, we’re requesting customers stop using the glassware and return them to any U.S. McDonald’s restaurant beginning June 9. Previous McDonald’s promotional glassware and Happy Meal toys are not involved in the recall.

Instructions for Returning Shrek Forever After™ Glassware

Beginning Wednesday, June 9th, customers can return their glassware to any McDonald’s restaurant and receive a refund. Returns will only be accepted inside the restaurant. Customers will be instructed by a manager to sign a refund slip and will be refunded $3 for each glass returned. No receipt is necessary.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT RECALL - GRACO STROLLERS

About 1.5 million strollers made by Graco Children's Products are being recalled after reports of children's fingers being cut when the canopy is opening or closing. The recalled strollers are Graco's Passage, Alano and Spree strollers and travel systems.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall after Graco received seven reports of children being injured when their fingers got caught in canopy hinge as it was being opened or closed. Two children's fingers were cut and there were five reports of children losing their fingertips.

The recalled strollers were manufactured between October 2004 and February 2008. The manufacture date and model number can be found on the lower inside portion of the rear frame, just above the rear wheels.

CPSC Children's fingers can get caught when the canopy is being raised or lowered.

Graco made two styles of hinges for the strollers. Those on the strollers being recalled are plastic, jointed hinges with indented notches for positioning the canopy. For a complete list of the model numbers of recalled strollers and travel systems, visit the CPSC's Web site HERE .

Anyone with a recalled stroller should stop using it and contact Graco at 800-345-4109 to receive a free protective cover repair kit. The company's Web site is http://www.gracobaby.com/.

IMPORTANT CRIB RECALL INFORMATION!

The death of a six-month-old child prompted a recall Tuesday of some 635,000 cribs from Dorel-Asia sold at Kmart, Sears, Wal-Mart and other stores.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of 20 crib models whose drop sides can detach and create space where a child can suffocate or strangle.

Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu Liquicaps Recalled by Procter & Gamble Due To Failure to Meet Child-Resistant Closure Requirement

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.

Name of Product: Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquicaps

Units: About 700,000 packages

Manufacturer: The Procter & Gamble Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio

Hazard: The cold and flu medicine contains acetaminophen and is not in child-resistant packaging and lacks the statement, “This Package for Households Without Young Children,” as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. This medicine could cause serious health problems or death to a child if several of the capsules are swallowed.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recall involves Vicks Dayquil Cold & Flu 24-Count Bonus Pack Liquicaps. The medicine comes in orange packaging with the green Vicks symbol and has the following UPC#: 3 23900 01087 1. No other Vick’s product is included in this recall.

Sold at: Drug stores, grocery stores and other retailers nationwide between September 2008 and December 2009 for about $5.

Manufactured in: Canada

Remedy: Consumers should keep this product out of the reach of children. Consumers who purchased the product with the expectation that it would be in child-resistant packaging can contact Procter & Gamble for a full refund or a replacement coupon. Adult consumers can continue to use the product as directed.
