Making Mother's Visible Day Event on May 12th

The San Francisco International Museum of Women (IMOW) presents Making Mothers Visible Day San Francisco, a large-scale outdoor community photography pop-up event, honoring San Francisco Mothers on Saturday, May 12th from 10am-3pm at the San Francisco Main Public Library.

Civic Center
100 Larkin Street | SF

The black and white photographs ranging in size from 5 feet to 15 feet tall, will showcase 56 moms and midwives representing the rich diversity of motherhood in San Francisco. Taken throughout SF neighborhoods over the past few months by local photographers Margaret Silverman, Carolina Abolio and Caroline Lovell, the photos will be installed with wheat paste on the exterior of the Main Library Building and displayed through Memorial Day.

This family friendly day will also include free art activities for adults and children including a mobile traveling postcards booth for visitors to share their birth stories. Many of the mothers will be on hand to share their stories, along with representatives from local organizations working on behalf of mothers.

What a neat event, definitely worth checking out and going with your mom if you're in the area.
